Eight Is Enough at Sparta Apparently

8 men got the F after it at Sparta this morning.  This is what we did:

The Thang:

SSHs…start to mosey…wait for Nabisco (PBo 2.0)…mountain climbers—hold ’em—Peter Parkers—hold ’em—Parker Peters

Back way to Sedgefield Park playground: 1-2-3-4-5 pull-up/burpee ladder

LBCs whilst we wait for six

Up to road, AYG to South Blvd., 8 chgerkins at each intersection

Mary whilst we wait for six

AYG back to park, 8 sumo jump squats at each intersection

Plank-o-rama whilst we wait for six

Down to playground: 5-4-3-2-1 pull-up/burpee ladder

Back to road, partner up, backward run/5 burpee partner chase, stop once each partner completes 3 rounds of burpees

Gather six and run back to the playground

1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 pull-up/burpee ladder

LBCs whilst we wait for six

Mosey back thru park to base of SMS hill

Plank it up – then AYG home

Naked Moleskin:

Small Batch Sparta.  Lots of absences today.  Was it the Q?  Was it the cold?  Was it travel and injury?  All of the above?  Whatevs.  I try to give the Pax what they need regardless of the number (not necessarily what they want – it’s supposed to be hard, Doobie).  Actually, a very solid crew today.  Probably a little lower on the mileage scale than they have seen as of late, but it was good (for me at least) to do a little more boot camp as I’ve been running more lately.  #selfish  Anyhoo, there are just so many options at Sparta, it’s hard to go wrong.  Probably should’ve hit the wall at least once … or the track … or McDonald … or the hill next to the diamond … or Lurker … next time, fellas, next time … or the next time after that.

#TAP.  Our thoughts and prayers to Snots’ sister, the Hager family (on tragic loss of their high school son Ben), and Thin Slice’s family on the death of his grandfather, Romeo (actual name, not obvious F3 name).  Regarding the last item, take 5 min. to explore the obit of Mr. Romeo Quaranta (aka “Original Slice”), http://www.lloydmaxcy.com/obituaries/2019/01/romeo-a-quaranta/.  That each of us would be so lucky to live so full a life.

Life is so busy, busy, busy sometimes:  damn, it’s February already!  So it’s easy to get caught in the moments of “urgency” and forget about what is actually important.  Always good to soak in some morning “respite” and sweat out some of the ancillary stress and troubles with my F3 brothers to better tackle the day ahead.

Hope you didn’t regret handing over the keys too much this week, Doobie.  Thanks for the opportunity.

No regrets- that’s why you somehow keep getting the Q despite being banned 2 years ago.
