An extra cup of coffee this morning, breakfast and 1 hour and 15 minutes after the end up Silver Bullet, I took over as Q at MIP. I felt energized by the huge crowd we had (and totally exhausted when I got home).

When we finished up, I was reminded of Jesus saying this about the power of faith as small as a mustard seed:

“For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

I always found this saying of Jesus puzzling. It didn’t seem at all realistic to me.

A recent explanation I heard goes something like this. With a little faith, you can do a lot. So even if your faith is small, which for me, it surely is, I can still get a lot done. My faith doesn’t have to be huge.

Maybe another word for faith is ‘determination’, ‘drive’, or ‘persistence’. It doesn’t take a lot to get big results. I think that message was a theme today in our closing Circle of Trust. The support of each other, the Rescue Mission and a little faith will enable us to beat addiction and to live our lives as a blessing to ourselves and those around us. Amen.
