Axe Thrower Route

8@8 with a fresh new route. Come check it.

No 6 mile route #matlockpolicy. If you already run at least 3 other times during the week and this is not a tempo day for you, you should be running 2 min / mile slower than your 5k pace #20/20policy. If you need some reasoning behind the second policy check out some pro training logs. These guys are high 13 min 5kers, 2:12 Marathoners running 6:45 – 7:15 easy runs. That’s 2:20 – 2:50 min / mile slower than 5k pace… Go see for yourself:

The route:

Up providence towards town, right on caswell, left on 7th, right on central, left on louise ave, left on 16th, right on pegram st., left on 20th, left on N Mcdowell st, left on 16th, right on Seigle, left on Otts st, left on Louise, Right on 10th, left on N McDowell st, Left on 3rd / providence back home

    Two things:
    1 – I see the stats above and my thinking was that if I do easy runs at 6:45-7:15 then maybe that will lead to a marathon time like them…. does it work that way?
    2 – that was a stinky (literally) route. Put that one away until fall when the garbage trucks are not boiling the trash
