If you already run at least 3 other times during the week and this is not a tempo day for you, you should be running 2 min / mile slower than your 5k pace #20/20policy. If you need some reasoning behind the second policy check out some pro training logs. These guys are high 13 min 5kers, 2:12 Marathoners running 6:45 – 7:15 easy runs.
