The BackBlast:
Mission I Am Possible – Backblast
A mutant flu strain crippled our scheduled Q Friday night. YHC (Newport) handled the distress signal and the Sign up Genius went down there were so many Pax signing up for next year’s leadership opportunities at MIP.
The pax was there early. Slides and sock-and-sandal warfare were de-escalated to running shoes. 8:58 hit. We launched at 9.
Warmup:
20 SSH
20 Imperial Walkers
20 “Sharons”
Rev wheeled in like a 1980s training montage, blasting a Walkman mixtape. The mumblechatter auto-synced.
The Thang:
Run to BAC Stadium (Pax held it together like a shuffled playlist).
People’s Chair + baby arm squeezes (Rev was that Van Halen?).
“Kitty-to-Kitty” up the stadium hill 3x with 10 wide arms under each big cat gate guardian.
14 flights up a parking deck to meet our inner Freddy Mercury at the top.
Native American Run downhill (Charlotte branch = the Pequot Indian Chase, apparently).
Derkins, dips, rail balance, planks, diamonds, and whatever else gravity would allow on the descent.
Final sprint back to the Café = All. You. Got.
COT:
Two Pax from Queens + one Colorado visitor (McCaulay) were baptized by sweat and given names. New members of the brotherhood.
Announcements:
1/1/26, 8:00 AM at Alexander Graham Middle (AG) – 15-Year Convergence. Free coffee. We were 31 men there in 2011. Now we need a bigger tent and she’s beautiful.
Prayers:
Peace. Joy. Fewer cookies. More Qs.
Shoutouts:
Hellboy, Rev, Spoons, Scrooge, Frankie, Dredd, Kodak, Messy, Monkey Feet, GAAP, St. Paul, ColdCutz, and every other HIM who shows up before the alarm finishes each Saturday morning. Please take it easy on the SiteQ and sign up for your spot for next year.
Moleskine:
YHC Q’d Swole Friday while powered by garage-deck stairs and 6 cookies short of enlightenment. Would do it again. Probably will do it again.
Thanks for the keys. Always an honor.
