“He Just Grunts and then does an Exercise”

As told by Cream Cheese: “Scrooge lived up to his name this morning – he brought the shovel flag, but no cold beverages or winter weather for the 11 other pax who showed up.

What We Did –
– Took off down Park right at 7 am on the dot.
– Warm ups at St Pats. Then back track to scoop Oswald.
– We turned around and completed the latta loop.
– Ended up at DWE playground for 3 rounds of pull ups, merkins and LBCs.
– We then left the playground and moseyed down Myrtle, right on Mt Vernon, right on Lafayette and right on Berkley. We paused at Berkley for some planks before heading back to playground.
– More motions at playground including some drydocks and derkins. Scrooge’s derkin style involved his feet on top of the iron fence surrounding the playground. It looked like he was doing a keg stand. Impressive.
– From there, we increased the loop to Carlton, then back to the start for some flutters.
– Next loop to Lexington. Motions at end to collect the six.
– final loop to Dilworth Rd.
– no stopping at playground. Continued to Romney, then headed to park entrance at Carlton and ran through park to grinder.
– We filled the final 3 minutes with some squats and merkins.

Moleskin –
– A total of 12 covered 4.66 miles. Scrooge lead from the front, middle and back. Tassels, Sauté, Wilson, Skyline, Oswald, Runaround, 40 Thieves, Khloe, Sheep, Glad Hander and Cream Cheese joined Scrooge.
– Thankfully, Scrooge resisted the pax’s suggestion of hitting 6 miles.
– Tassels managed to not get lost trying to find a port-a-potty.
– Khloe functioned as the pace car as he tried to figure out where Scrooge wanted to go.
– Scrooge did his best to bring some F3 corporate law and order. My favorite memory was him calling for merkins at corner of Berkley and Carlton. Scrooge, Cream Cheese and Oswald did the merkins. The rest of the pax just continued to lunge as they headed up Berkley.
– No Oatmeal again. We run by his house every week, but he just ignores us.
– Runaround ran to Latta today. With a weight vest. He ran home as well. He lives in Cotswold area. You do the math.
– On the way home from coffee, I got to see Skyline and his biker gang. Skyline was dressed in yellow (she said hello) with tight black shorts and sweet sunglasses. He does wear a helmet as well.
– Coffee chatter still includes Costco topics. Some things never change. Also – 40 Thieves seemed to indicate that since he started Latta, the average mileage has increased. He claimed that we went from Sub 3 mile workouts to plus 4 mile workouts in last 6 months. The rest of us disputed that claim and did not recall a sub 3 mile workout at Latta.
– Convergence at Independence park on Friday for the 4th. I guess it’s a good taper workout for Latta. Tassels is scheduled to lead at Latta next week, but has been in negotiations with Boat Misser to switch. Show up and see who leads.
