The BackBlast:
We’ve got a hole to fill, fellas. Big Hair Monday needs an interim Site Q—a High Impact Man willing to step into the gap and keep the shovel flag flying until the next permanent Q emerges from the gloom or Rube gets back from Asia.
Let’s be clear: this is not hard—unless you make it hard. Don’t overthink it. Here’s what the interim BHM Site Q is responsible for:
• Identify one Q per week. That’s it. One man. One Monday. Rinse and repeat.
• EH a few HIMs into leading. Don’t wait for volunteers. Tap shoulders. Issue challenges. No man gets better in the comfort zone.
• Herd the mumblechatter mob—yes, even the guys who think they’re funny. Especially them.
• Name the next Q before the end of each beatdown. No loose ends.
• Stoke the fires of 2ndF but leave the emotional processing for your therapist. This is F3. Keep it light. Keep it loud. Keep it moving.
Submit your CV to Rube ([email protected]) and Scrooge ([email protected]).
The Thang:
YHC led the PAX through the following:
• Warmarama in the lot (standard issue: SSH, IW, Merkins, you know the drill).
• Mosey out down Sterling with a stop at Wellesley for a trip up to Queens, stopping at the cross street for 10 Merkins and at Queens. Back down to Sterling, repeat but change to burpees.
• Continued down Sterling to Westfield, for a stop on the wall. Dips while we wait for the 6. Then down Westfield to Jameston. Right on Jameston, passing the early Amazon driver and into Freedom Park.
• Once in the park, we hit half a lap around the lake, stopping at each light post to perform increasing reps of Merkins and finishing at the Epstein Island. Gitmo demonstrated proper whiffle ball or teeball swings – swears this will get you kids to the pros
• Out of Epstein island over to the stairs, joined the Triyon run group (no Freeloader or Subway) for a quick trip up and over towards the playground.
• Quick stop for some flutters, then lung walks, then back to the COT for a false finish as we had to take a tour of the new stairs to the greenway. Back over to COT.
COT:
Short and sharp. Prayers lifted. Shields locked. Reminder that this isn’t a fitness group—it’s a comedian club where Thin Slice shares his best material, which shouldn’t be in print, and Gitmo drops questions that don’t really have answers.
Good to be in the gloom, Thrust was back in action. He HC’d to Ranger on Wednesday.
