27. 27 men showed up in a restaurant parking lot at 5:27 in the morning to work out. 27... but no one could be bothered to sign up to lead. So YHC took it... mostly to teach a lesson, but also because how embarrassing would it be to be one of the site Q's for a workout that consistently gets 25+ to post, week in and week out, to not have a Q. So the mission was to make this hard, so there wouldn't be a gap in Q slots. Little did I know that maybe i would be the math that was too hard...
After Swingline, Sloppy, and YHC wrapped up our 1.5 mile jaunt around Teeter at a stately sub 7:30 pace (nice warm up), we arrived to a large-ish crowd. At 5:30 we hit the road...
Mosey to salon parking lot. It was new, think it was the first time we have visited this lot. We had to mark our territory. It looked inviting, we circled (ovaled?) around 2 trees. Motion sensor lights were going off, do people live here? I see a light on with a fan on... we should make this quick.
Wrap up COP, head to Robin, explain directions at the top of the hill so we don't get yelled at. Stop at each light and do 10 XFit merkins and 10 monkey humpers down Westbury to Montclair (or... that first street on the left).
As YHC was waiting on the 6, it was pretty obvious there were a lot of people out that morning. Have to keep moving... head through Trinity (through the old Widow parking lot that is still as grainy as any lot in the farming village of Cotswold), to the not-so-secret cut-through to Ruttledge, down to the bottom of the half pipe.
Now, YHC Q'd the (not real) Sparta in Area 51 and called double 7's (set of 7's at the top of the hill, another at the bottom) and while I am pretty sure most of the Pax in 51 did not finish the exercises (creative accounting), they at least understood it. You would think YHC called for the explanation of the Dichotomy Paradox. Irregardless (yea) we did double 7's. One side was single leg dead lifts and merkins, the other side was monkey humpers and merkins. Every time you crossed the speed bump you did 5 XFit merkins. Lots-o-merkins. Also... simple.
Hustle back through not-so-secret cut through, to the grainy parking lot, back to Hot Box.
The Hot Box used to be a Black Widow staple. 75% of every black widow workout included a visit to the Hot Box. It was our Hot Box. Now there is Shorecard, a couple different FIA workouts, and a couple YouTube stars doing their own workout videos #takebacktheboxthatishot
Partner up, one partner grabs coupon and sits on the wall and either holds block over his head or curls it. Other partner runs down and does a pull-up. Flapjack. Then repeat with 2 pull-ups, 3, 4, 5.
Run up the steps, quick (and terrible Mary) and wrap it up at a solid 6:16 finish. Suck it haters.
