The BackBlast:

Commitment has always been a hard thing for me. When I was about 7 years old my parents took me to see a specialist who diagnosed me as a quitter. Now I’m not looking for your sympathy. I’ve come to grips with my medical condition and I’ve learned to live with it. It’s hard being a quitter. People don’t always give you the compassion and understanding that we quitters all crave. But I recognize that I suffer from being a quitter and I’m just trying to make the best of it. So one of the things I do is sign up for things that are hard to get out of. Like being the Q at core meltdown. If you sign up to q and don’t show Blue Toronado will come to your house and force you to get a Clemson tattoo on your face. I mean I like Clemson but I’ve never gotten a tattoo before. And my looker— let’s just say it’s pretty much my moneymaker. So I signed up to q and then developed a stomach bug. And since I’m a quitter my first reaction was to stay in bed this morning. But knowing that blue Toronado would force me to get that damn tiger paw on my cheekbone cost me to get out of bed and fill my left pocket with toilet paper just in case things went South. I’m happy to say the things went well –I showed up to Q and blue Toronado is not coming over to my house with some purple and orange ink and a needle.
Here’s how the whole thing went down:
We started with the standard because that’s what we always do even when you’re not feeling well and you’re fearful of getting a tattoo —you still have your standards. And then we did a very simple but horrible workout I like to call the fives : 5 exercises done five times for five sets. And then you do five parking lots prints. The first exercises were inboards outboards reverse grip lawn mower left and right and then hammer curls. The second round was  curtsy squats Romanian deadlifts left and right and then goblet squats. For the third round we did weighted feat hook sit-ups on the bleachers, LBC, double protractor, Freddie Mercury and dollies. We didn’t finish the last set which included single flat back chest press from your six, merkins, and full Renegade rows..
I will say this I think the packs got their money’s worth today I was having to call for 10 counts as if I was being compassionate when what  I really wanted to do was to quit. But since I got my diagnosis of being a quitter I’ve come to recognize the laziness that shows up inside of me and I work to stop it. Had a pretty good playlist that was a mix of many different things blue Toronado called eclectic.   I’m not sure if it was I think it was just fun to have the Beatles Abba and Public Enemy in the same playlist.
 Announcements
we have 25 slots left for the blood drive at Community matters Cafe in November. Shoe drive still going on for MIP. If you’re a friend of Snoop you know what a great guy he is. His woman is in the hospital having had emergency surgery for a brain aneurysm. Keep them in your prayers and look for opportunities to support and lift up our brother.
Hey thanks for joining me for this Beatdown this morning .  I’m glad I didn’t quit and I’m glad I didn’t s***
