September 11: A Day We Will Always Remember

The BackBlast:

We had a great turnout today as 10 men worked extra hard as we remembered 9/11.

When we performed regular exercises did back to back sets of 9 and then 11.  We also did 3 sets of burpees @ 9, 11 and 9.

The main activity was to climb 110 stories on the back stairs of the Queens parking garage.  We split into three teams of 3, 3 and 4.  One team member ran up the stairs while the other performed SHUTUPS.  We alternated runners so that everyone ran up approximately 25 floors or so. We then lined up and carried our bells up and down the stairs and silence.

Final exercise was a How Down favorite: Jack Webb.  It took a couple of 10 counts to get us to 10 but when YHQ called it done, the Pax insisted we go to 11. #commitment!

In the COT a few Pax shared what 9/11 meant to them.  Peppers brought a tear to all of our eyes by telling us about this HS best friend Jeremy Glick. Click this link to learn about this amazing person and what he and his fellow passengers did aboard flight 93.

It seemed to me that no one wanted to leave Coffeteria.  I think most of us were there for over an hour and some of us for almost 2.  The Silver Bullet Pax were there and celebrity Kotter Hyannis joined us for Coffee after completing a similar 9/11 workout at Cherokee.

Let’s remember today for ever and let’s bring love into the world as this is the only antidote for hate and ignorance.
