The Thang:

We launched from the lot at 7:00:15 and headed up Winthrop and over to Tremont. Stopped at Tremont for SSH. Down Tremont to the RuSan parking lot. More PT. Up Park Rd to Sunset – stop for merkins. Backwards run up Sunset to the curve and then turn around and continue to Poindexter and then right towards South. Stop at Sedgefield UMC for Latta’s favorite – coupons. Farmer carry left-handed to one corner. Right hand to the next corner. Rifle carry to the finish. Return blocks (logo right-side up and facing out) and back on the road. Out to South and towards home. I still can’t find anyone else that likes bidep merkins (8 of those on a double count). More stops for PT along the way, plus another Latta fave – 90 second forearm plank… We make it back a bit early. Plank in the grass and the Q starts the Army crawl through the plank tunnel. Followed by Tea Bag and Wilson. Skyline refuses, as does Sauté and it falls apart. Leadership fail for the Q. Down to the Grinder (why is it called that?) to finish up with AMRAP merkins. 4.36 miles by my watch – Khloe owes me a dozen chickens, as we crested 4 miles.

Someday I look forward to being able to talk as I run, but that day hasn’t arrived yet. Most of what I could hear from behind me was Brûlée and Skyline commenting on the stoner fast food employees as we would pass another burger/taco/chicken joint on South. Tea Bag(ger) was, for the most part, out in front, so not much talking from him. Oswald, Wilson, Dos Equis and Clip Board just hung in the back and had a good ol’ time, shooting spit-wads and tossing paper airplanes, all while moseying along at what they must have considered a relatively easy pace.
