The BackBlast:

Weather: Blinding snowstorm… because why not

The Thang:
Thirteen* brave idiots answered the call at Mission I’m Possible, creating our personal snow globe of pain. Visibility was low, morale was high, and excuses were left behind.

After a snowy warm up circling the Community Matters Cafe low, we moseyed to the Keep Pounding Tunnel, passing by sledders walking in search of a hill and the Old Man Security Guard who said he’s too damn smart to join an F3 workout. The Q was sharing gloves with a brother, so we mercifully kept our hands off the ground and just indulged in Mohammed Ali’s, Jack LeLane’s and the Might Air Press.

From there, we migrated to a parking deck ramp for some good old-fashioned 5s – ‘mericans at the bottom, LBCs at the top. Legs were reminded they are not in charge. Up the ramp, down the ramp—again and again—until quads were screaming and balance was merely a suggestion thanks to the icy conditions.

Just when PAX thought relief might be coming, we ventured into the Undiscovered Territory – the Honeywell parking deck for a reprieve from the wind and snow. We jogged up a few levels looking for a nice flat spot away from the wind. Level 3 hit the spot and we engaged in a good old fashioned beat-down, ending with a spicy Ring of Fire. Burpees, merkins, and core work circled the group as snow continued to rage outside, while sweat poured inside. Conditions were miserable. Spirits were not.

Time was running short, but the Men of Rebound stayed hard and learned about the Mogadishu Mile on the run back to Community Matters. Snow was falling think, but spirits remained high.

COT:
13 men pushed through the storm, pushed each other, and proved once again that Mission I’m Possible is exactly that—possible, even in the Blizzard of the Century. We welcomed Brooklyn to the Brotherhood. We celebrated Mad Hatter’s 46th Birthday. We cheered Spaniard’s recent engagement to his lovely bride-to-be. And, ofc, we posed for a picture because we are a Tik-Tok generation. Snoop led us in an amazing prayer session.

T-Claps all around.
Keep showing up. Keep pushing. Keep pounding. 💪❄️🔥

* – we get a 1/2 PAX credit for the dude who showed up in shower shoes for MIP in 5 inches of snow. GAAP wasn’t there to hand out shoes, so we did ask him to head back inside for safety reasons. He’s a hard core dude, though.
