The BackBlast:

A beautiful morning for that eclectic thing called Splinter Group to tip off. We are in that fun time of year where it is neither too cold nor too hot to run and/or ruck around Myers Park. So here is what the runners did: we ran a very gloom based route down a very dark Hampton Ave. to Hanson Drive and then onto a very interesting part of Charlotte, Myers Park Drive. Myers Park Drive was built in a flood plain and required significant engineering by Meck Co, Stormwater to keep Brier Creek from continuing to flood after heavy rain events. On a previous outing we had tried the same route but got blocked by ponded water but since it hasn’t rained in a fortnight (not sure what a fortnight means but it sounds cool), we safely navigated the route this morning without losing anyone to high water. The trip back took us through a gloomy Beverly Drive where they don’t believe in street lights, but we made it home and watched the ruckers come in in waves. Apparently, the ruckers don’t play well together as they never seem to arrive back home en masse.
Another fun day in The Park. Till next Wednesday, Aye!
