The Changeup
The BackBlast:
We threw a little wrench in things this morning and brushed the dust off the cinder blocks and moved some concrete around Latta park.
We started the workout in traditional Phoenix fashion. Warmed up with side straddle hop and began making our way around the outer perimeter of Latta park (stopping to do multiple sets of Merkins, LBC, bicycle, flutters, and everyone’s favorite the low plank).
We made it back to the parking lot and grabbed a new gear. Some picked up 2 blocks, some grabbed 1 block, and some grabbed no block… Modify as needed.
With heads high, we carried our blocks street corner to street corner working on our grip strength. At each left turn we did a mini circuit.
Circuit 1: Curls followed by overhead press
Circuit 2: Bench press, curls
Circuit 3: squats with block, curls, burpee with block
Circuit 4: curls, derkin, rows, and tricep press
We spent the final 8 minutes running – mixing in more merkins, LBC, and low plank.
Everyone powered through and was stronger than the concrete.
