Wingate? Really? The Demon Squirrels?

Marathon day in Charlotte and 8 men arrived at Latta. 7 would struggle for the next 60 minutes, but 1 – Skyline – would need to take it easy and lead his own solo workout. The rest of us would be jealous of Skyline after enduring Scrooge’s lead.
What We Did –
– Started off normal as we headed down Park to St Pats, warm up, then back thru park to the pavilion where Scrooge had placed the shovel flag, 30lb ruck pack, 30lb bag full of sand and another round bag that was about 25lbs.
– the remaining 50 minutes involved the 7 of us taking turns carrying that stuff around the surrounding streets of Latta Park.
– Scrooge’s rules – flag goes first – which the pax did a good job following. 2nd rule – those carrying weights go next. The pax did not really follow those rules well.
– We did a complete loop around Latta park and headed up the streets that lead into the park. We would run a bit, then stop and plant flag and wait for six while doing either merkins, squats, imperial walkers, plank jacks or monkey humpers. See map below for route.
– we finished on grinder with some Mary.

Moleskin –
– we managed to cover about 3.5 miles. Scrooge lead a light crowd. Not sure if it was the marathon or Boarder Patrol arrival in Charlotte that scared everyone away. Those in attendance –
Scrooge, Cream Cheese, Glad Hander, Oatmeal (Kotter), Seat Geek, Khloe and Oswald.
– good to see Oatmeal back. It’s been a while, especially since we run by his house every week.
– Scrooge made us do monkey humpers in front of Sheep’s house.
– No 40 thieves. Word on the street is that he had a big dinner at Chima last night and probably had a date with a toilet this morning.
– Lots of good NFL games this weekend. Unfortunately, Pate and Girardi won’t be attending one of them. They are in Arizona to see the 49ers play Cards. I hear Girardi booked a spa weekend for the guys.
– luckily Pate and Skyline were not there today because a mutiny would surely have happened. Scrooge decided to slow the running down by adding some weights to the mix. An anonymous quote from the pax, “this maybe the dumbest workout ever”
– Luckily, no injuries – we didn’t have to load anyone into a car due to a back injury.
– Thanks to Glad Hander for attending. I was no longer War Daddy.
– Sheep ran the full marathon and Wilson ran the half.
– Scrooge’s message – “be nice to people”.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the South family who lost their son earlier this week.
