The BackBlast:

My man Blue Tornado was generous enough to let go of his baby for a morning and let me drive that Bell Raising event called Core Meltdown. Whenever I Q I talk Blue into being my DJ because he understands good music. Translation: he is old like me.

Here is what we did: warm up of Do Re Me’s, IW’s, Seal Jacks, Sharon Towers, Mountain Climbers, and the ever popular Grapevine Stretch which has become a CORE staple.

We lined up on the end line of the parking lot and did S-L-U-G-S,  5 of each KB swings, Lawnmowers, Upright rows, Goblet squats, and more swings. In between events we ran the lot alot.

From there we took off on the main event: Kettle Bell Carry- Catch Me If You Can (s) around the lake. Freedom Park is usually a very crowded park but not so much at 5:30 in the A.M. so we had the AO to ourselves. After a hard lap around the lake we stopped at the last picnic shelter and did a round of dips, step ups and derkins. to break up the partner carry.

Lastly we did a partner event where each team did a total of 50 sit ups and Peter parkers. One partner did the exercise while the other ran. Finishing up we did some rail work and a quick round of Mary.

CORE never ceases to amaze me. The guys who I see morning after morning inspire me more than they will ever know. I really appreciate the opportunity to hang out with them especially during a time when relationships are so much harder to make and maintain than they have ever been. Thanks, guys.

Announcements: The F3 Blood Drive is coming up on November 21 at Community Matters Cafe. Van Winkle and others are taking the lead on a fundraising effort to build up the F3 Foundation funds so that an Executive Director can be hired. Thank you Crotch Rocket for leading us during this time of transition.

Thanks, Blue for the keys. It was fun.
