Charting New Territory

Pax Names: Beethoven, Carrier, Hellboy, Lynchpin, Nomad, Pipeline, Tao,

The BackBlast:

The big rain held off for 7 explorers who did not pull off a revolution as YHC as their Q led them into uncharted territory.

We exited the parking lot and immediately moved beyond the normal stomping grounds. Luckily, Tao tracked us down before the first (or was it second) exercise was called. Anyone else who posted post posted (not a typo) start time was out of luck trying to find us, as we headed south along Irwin Creek. And it was still a little dark; And we were a small quiet group; And we were fast. Ok, maybe not fast, but we were steadily moving away from the start point. No one else found us, although there were a few walkers out on the path. BTW, the greenway along Irwin Creek and the fields we discovered along the way are an unfound treasure. Check it out sometime with your M and 2.0s for a stroll and picnic.

Pause now for a quick advertisement for Shield Locks. YHC put notice out to his SL that he was Q, and the entire SL group net 1 who was DR posted. That’s a good practice for SL members to post when one of it’s members has the Q somewhere. Look out for another SL Roundtable to be scheduled in the next two weeks. Contact YHC for more info on Shield Locks.

Now back to the Thang:
We basically moseyed from the Revolution start point to the south end of the Irwin Creek greenway which is about 1.3 miles one way. We stopped along the way for a stack of exercises:

SSH x20
IW x20
Merkins x20
Dips x20
StepUps x20

At our destination, we found a bunch of basketball courts, and because it is March madness season, and none of the pax could hit their free throws, YHC made us run a suicide spiked with burpees.

We headed back at this point unstacking the exercises above.

We wrapped up with some plank walks and a minute of LBCs and we were done. 3+ miles of fun.

Great tight strong group, who YHC profiled at the start knowing they could pull off the mileage.

Announcements:
Look for Fortitude on Tuesday mornings at Room Above/Mens Shelter to start back up soon. If you have interest in taking a leadership role at Fortitude, contact Pipeline or Gridlock.

Look for afternoon AO options: Tuesdays at Suffolk Punch, Wednesday at Community Matter Cafe.

Pipeline has the Q next Saturday.
