Take Me Out to the Ballgame

The BackBlast:

Starting job at this premier venue opened up on Sunday so YHC jumped at the chance. Aiming to throw a complete game and give the bullpen some rest.

The Thang:
* Mosey to Carmel Presbyterian lot for warmup. SSH, imperial walkers, low slow squats, mountain climbers, and merkins (20 each) then bird feeders (5 each side).
* Mosey to Mullens Ford (1B) to start building a string on down to Foxcroft east, adding 5 wide arm merkins, 10 squats, 15 LBCs, 20 shoulder taps, 25 split squats (or lunges).
* 30 dips at fountain near Brixx (2B).
* Reverse back Valencia to Town and Country (3B) and then to launch for 90 seconds of Mary to finish. Safe at home.

Moleskin:
* Razorback brought rare guest in canine form. Schwarber was excited to join and made for pleasant panting company. Former’s namesake was an Arkansas coach. Unclear whether latter’s name was actual or given by F3.
* Good Cubbies trivia along the way. WGN = World’s Greatest Newspaper, named after Tribune ownership. Also Razorback’s license plate showed LWLLWWW after 2016 sequence to beat Tribe (remember rain delay series), last team to come back to win WS from 3-1 down? 1985 Royals.
* Modern structure (if you can call it a home?) on Sharon View still under construction seven years post-demo.
* Did well: Kept mileage and pace reasonable based on prior feedback from pax.
* Do differently: Missed opportunity for diamond merkins.
* Strava art somewhat diamond-like.

Announcements & Prayers:
* Slum Dog made Q assignments for 2H23. Get on the schedule, post if you haven’t in awhile, and headlock a man in need.
* Blood drive August 19 at Community Matters.
* McGee’s son and family amidst health challenges.
