The BackBlast:

YHC was made aware with less than a 12-hour notice that The President would be showing up for the best damn 0600 Saturday workout in F3.  YHC didn’t freak. Didn’t panic. Didn’t really do anything, honestly.  The pax of The Worm always show up and show off. I knew this day would be no different.

YHC was pleased to see the parking lot filling up upon arrival.  If you’re wondering, yes The President was there getting ready. Along with Shine and Taf who I think sleep over the night before to make sure they don’t miss the fun.

Then I see guys like Swiper, Steriod, even Thin Slice.  I knew mumble chatter would be of the most epic proportion and that calling out exercises would be as useful as telling your kid they couldn’t eat ice cream. They never listen. Well…I gave it shot.

0600 hit and we were off.  One quick lap around what use to be a nicely paved track at AG middle then down to the lower parking lot for the COP.

This COP was met with much mumble chatter…hey this isn’t going to get us 6 miles. More exercises, great we’ll get in 1.5 miles. Among other mumble feedback. While there we knocked out:

  • 25 SSH
  • 10 Merkins
  • 10 Peter Parkers

Maybe some CDD – I can’t remember over the sound of the voices I’m till hearing

Out of the parking lot and over to Mustang drive. There we did a sequence of 2 burpees at the bottom of the drive / 10 LBC’s at the top, 4 burpees at the bottom / 8 LBCs at the top – 5 times

Then over to Michael Baker bridge for some very high decline merkins. Knock them out and catch your breath prior to heading up Michael Baker. On Michael Baker we “Performed”:

  • 5 Carolina Dry Docks at the bottom / 10 CDD at the first stop sign / 15 CDD at the top and then back down for 10 Merkins / 5 Merkins
  • Rinse and repeat 2 X.

Then we headed back up Michael Baker to Selwyn United Methodist Church.  A bit of a catch up stop.  There we “performed” some LBC’s and Flutters.

Off over to Brandywine road. There we did a suicide up the hill.  Run to the bottom of Brandywine. “Perform” 5 cross fit merkins. Run up to the first stop sign. 5 cross fit merkins and back to the bottom for 5 more cross fit merkins.  Back to the top of Brandywine and more cross fit merkins.  2 rounds!

We pulled back up at the top of Selwyn and Brandywine for some Mary waiting for the six and looking for The President.

At this point, there was mumble chatter about cicadas and bungholes.  It was getting really weird. To much to capture here.

With he pax regrouped we made one last stop at Arcadia to knock out a quick set of 7s.  1 Squat at the bottom of Arcadia, 6 CDD at the top. Flap Jack and keep it rolling.  YHC had to pull the plug early to manage the clock.

Back down to MP High entrance for some dips and then zipped back down Colony into AG Middle with time to remind the JV league that Varsity was done. Always good to hear the cheers and remind them that Shine doesn’t belong in their power walking group.

We hit NOR and COT.

At COT we had an FNG.

Grizz EH’ed the newly minted FNG.  Dark Helmet was a guest on hist podcast the day prior. YHC thought the FNG was already one of us. Nope. But Grizz got it done and brought Scott out, now known as Gere.

Shine lead us out in a strong prayer, as usual.

NMM

  • Honestly, there was so much chatter, I don’t even know where to start. None of it made much sense.  The mix of Swiper, Thin Slice, Roid and a sprinkle of Shine in there makes for undiscernible themes.
  • Our FNG, Gere, hung in there like a champ. The Worm isn’t an FNG friendly workout.  The pax here run with the best of them for the full hour, who would bring an FNG to that – Grizzley would!
  • Coffeeteria – pretty sure all the pax made coffeeteria. If you want to get a play by play of the workout and of the week, you should hit coffeeteria with us.

Prayers

  • YHC appreciate the prayers for my dad. He’s recovering from a stroke and is doing well in a rehab center.
  • Prayers for Frat Girl’s daughter. If you haven’t heard from him lately, shoot him a text. Drop a prayer for him.
