What’s up with that THANG:
We started late because Pate was late. As a result, YHC began the workout with a call for a lunge walk. Which no one did. And then they all ridiculed YHC for awkward/ poor form (“wait is that what you’re doing?”). So off we went.

Down to Duke Endowment building with a quick stop for SSH, merkins, LBCs. Use the benches for dips and derkins, then down toward the new hospital towers with a detour through the muddy open field. Up the bigger tower stairs. Most of went up all 8 flights of stairs. Like 5/6 of us anyhow. And Doobie was also there.

Back on the adventure we go, running through spots not designed for running through. A little tip of the cap to Apocalypto from Gauntlet-era metro. Bear crawl through the Realtor deck, then over to Tokin’ Tower (though no one was toking this morning) for 2 trips up. Doobie did all 9 levels (both times!). Did some Mary then mosey over to Dilworth Crescent for two rounds of partner lollipop work. Ok, so “partner lollipop work” might need an explanation. That’s a phrase at risk of misinterpretation. Dilworth Crescent is rows townhouses off Mt Vernon. The road runs down and forms a lollipop at the bottom. One partner runs, the other does exercises. Two rounds. And then back to COT.

We were a couple minutes late but all had fun. Good luck to CT starting a new gig today. And prayers up for Skyline and his family. Sky is getting cracked open soon. Like the Tin Man, it’s unclear whether he already has a heart or not, so the wizard is going to check on it for him. No doubts it will go well though. Sky is bad ass, and we will miss him at Phoenix during his recovery phase. Happy 250th birthday to our nation’s Marine Corps. Semper Fi, HE! Happy early Veterans Day (tomorrow). Do something patriotic tomorrow. Hell, do something patriotic every day. Say thank you to a vet, be kind to someone you know votes differently than you. Remember there is more that unites than divides us so don’t be an asshole. Oh, and happy belated Guy Fawkes Day aka Bonfire Night (Nov 5) for those who observe it.
