I’m gonna Build this Boat

So there I was, in the basement trying to build a LEGO boat with my son and my phone pings once again…this time its Pepe and Pitino the site Qs of my beloved Black Widow.  Pepe said that he was looking foward to my Q in the morning and I blanked.  I had completely forgotten about it.

Torn between the worlds of LEGO, Work and now F3 I could feel my anxitey level rise.

Then I thought of a meme one of my buddies had just sent me….

“You’re a ghost driving a meat covered skeletons made from star dust, what do you have to be scared of?”

So I said to myself, “I’m gonna build this boat.  Its gonna be badass and it will float during bathtime.  Then we are gonna say prayers and my son will go to bed, then a quick dinner, some work and then I’ll put together a rough draft of a simple group Q where I can get the PAX involved and work to raise money for the F3 Foundation.”

So I did just that.  The boat floated, kinda.  Read some Lightning McQueen, prayers and bed.  Dinner was solid with the fam, thanks to my Ms solid culinary skills and my Daughter and her BF (F3 Kushner) who cleaned up I was able to knock out some work.

On to the Q.

Simple, but with impact.

With the recent push to raise money to fund the new ED role for the F3 Nation I took inspiration from Early Bloomers recent call out at SpeedRuck and put the word out to the PAX that I’d be making a donation of $15 for every PAX in attendence.

I also wanted to help the PAX of BW think about what this thing we show up for day after day in the dark of the morning has meant to them.

What better way than a good ol fashoined OBT coined Pearls on String workout.

The Thang:

Warmup in the recently bankrupted Flywheel parking lot with:

SSH

Merkin

MC

Count off

Run about 1/8 mile segments and starting with #1 the PAX would name an excercise for the group to perform and after the exercise they name what F3 has meant to them.

It was awesome.

It was special.

I wish I had recorded each mans response and could replay it for you but I think that would tarnish the moment, kinda like taking a picture of the 4th of July fireworks instead of just watching em and saluting America

You had to be there to experiance the impact.  28 of us did.

It inspired my to focus on what matters and to Donate….to give back to an organization that has fundamentally changed the man that I am, the man that I want to be, and hopefully the legacy that I will leave.

Its a simple formula and we need to spread it across the nation.
