The Present

The BackBlast:

“What day is it?” asked Pooh.

“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.

“My favorite day,” said Pooh.

― A.A. Milne

I’m a sucker for a quote from a pig.

I have been thinking a bit about the present. The past is past, although William Faulkner has a legitimate point. (“The past is never dead. It’s not even past.”)

The future is not guaranteed. We all know that. (That doesn’t mean you don’t have to plan for it. (wisdom from My Sharona)

But the present: we have that. It is where we live all the time.

At the end of the workout, we had a brief but good discussion this morning about what it means to live in the present. Focus on now. Appreciate the moment you are living and the people you are with.
