The MIP is Back and It’s Looking for Trouble

The BackBlast:

All Dropkick Murphy references aside, MIP is back in full force and it’s exciting.

YHC had the Q at Mission I’m Possible (MIP) today, and I woke up worried about low attendance due to the cold and whatnot.

Man, was I wrong.

When ~10 Rebound men showed up 10 minutes early, I knew it would be a good turnout. For context, that’s more than we had at most of the ‘unofficial’ MIP workouts while the Rescue Mission was closed and we couldn’t host the men at our workouts. And then all the non-Rebound PAX rolled up and suddenly we had 23 men ready for a chilly beatdown.

Workout Recap:

Stretching, SSH, merkins, plank, LBCs, etc for warmup

Mosey to Panthers tunnel. Peoples Chair exercises and lunge/bear crawl/Mike Tysons between air press/LaLanes/Alis

Mosey to BOA Stadium entrance for 15 minutes of Minute Men. Vega called burpees right out the gate. Everyone else was much kinder.

Mosey to rock pile. YHC pulled a Dredd and had Chipper lead a couple exercises and the ‘3 things he did good, 3 things to improve’ activity. Instant confidence boost for him, especially when YHC had him coach another Rebound guy in the same practice. Lots of curls, tricep extensions, and overhead press.

Mosey back to start. Landrys (50 curb dips) and 10 burpees (thanks Vega) to close.

Moleskine

Ton of great energy today. 4 FNGs (Space Force, Mossy Creek, Old Bay, and Slipknot). Chipper, Heat, and Cup are now Rebound mainstays at MIP. Highly recommend y’all come out some Saturday at 9am to see the awesome work Valdez and Beaver are doing here in Uptown.

Solid 2nd F time at the Cafe afterwards. Coffee and breakfast sandwiches hit different after that workout.

MIP continues to be one of the most diverse (in every sense) AOs. Growth both through Rebound and by word-of-mouth is excellent and exciting. Could use a couple Triple Respects to round us out.

YHC brought an excellent workout playlist of mostly EDM and hip-hop. None of that soft rock nonsense Valdez enjoys. If you don’t know what EDM is, ask the nearest millennial.
